What a wonderful gift it would be…to turn lead into gold…

This statement is derived from the theories and investigations of alchemy, an archaic belief system that, among many other things, postulated man's ability to chemically transmute lead into gold. Essentially, this theory seeks to extract value from the valueless, to create something from nothing. This current body of work borrows heavily from this facet of alchemy, as it is significance that I create out of the mundane; ordinary objects used in extraordinary ways to extract their hidden potential as valid artistic substance.
